Forum inactivity for a period of 1 month Will result in automatic removal.* *New members must attend at least 1 club dig within their first month of joining* *.Always fill your holes carefully even on stubble and ploughed land. Horse riders, livestock and walkers could break a leg in unfilled holes. It also gives the club a bad image. *.Take any large items of iron such as plough shards and horseshoes with you. Please do not leave them on the surface, as this will cause damage to farm machinery. It is good practice to remove unwanted finds like cartridge cases and other small junk items. Discarded junk items give annoying surface signals for you and others. *.Open farm gates rather than climbing over them. 5x bar gates are very expensive and Farmers are going to be less likely to have us back if we break their gates! Make sure that you have closed any gates securely. *.Do not trespass on club farms. Permission to detect on Club farmland is granted only on the day agreed between the landowner and the organizer. *.No detecting on out of bounds areas. Only search on designated fields. *.Please park in allocated areas wherever possible. Avoid blocking field entrances. *.Litter must always be taken home especially on overnight stays and rallies. *.Respect the country code. *.If you discover any live ammunition or any lethal object such as an unexploded bomb or mine do not touch it. Mark the location carefully and contact the dig organiser immediately or contact the landowner or local police. *.Dogs are not allowed at any venue under any circumstances and that includes being left in vehicles. Farmers do not like a potential threat to livestock. *.Young children cannot be permitted on club digs as the club cannot accept liability for injury or be responsible for their safety. Farms and fields are full of hidden dangers such as slurry pits, barbed wire, livestock and moving vehicles etc. *.Make sure that you understand the laws of Treasure Trove, including recent changes. *.Finds that are subject to Treasure Trove laws are to be equally shared between the landowner and finder. Any items found that are not Treasure Trove become the property of the finder and the land Owner on the basis of 50/50 as is always agreed before any club dig commences. *.Please show your finds to other club members at the end of each dig. The club may wish to photo record some items and feature them on the clubs website and the Farmer/land owner may wish to see items found on their land. *."Non club members can sign up for club only digs but only where club members counts have NOT been reached".. *.Attendance on club digs is dependant on current membership of either the Federation of Independent Detectorists (FID) or the National Council for Metal Detectorists (NCMD) which you must renew annually. Membership to either gives you public liability insurance to £10 million.
